Capricorn presents the unique Tutto Rosso supercar at Villa d’Este
On the shores of Lake Como, where the boldest design solutions are typically showcased, a car has appeared that takes color to the extreme. Capricorn chose the prestigious Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este 2026 for the premiere of its latest prototype of the 01 Zagato model. This unique specimen is named Tutto Rosso and impresses with 95% of its visible surfaces painted in red.
This car is not just a private commission. It is the third validation prototype within the development program, with series production planned for the end of 2026. The previous two test cars featured a green Knokke body with brown leather interior and a yellow Giallo Sole finish paired with blue suede.
Red color in every detail
The red color penetrates deeper than just the bodywork. It covers the wheels, the interior, and even the mechanical components. The most obvious comparison would be with cars from Maranello, but Capricorn points to the all-red racing cars of the 1930s, specifically the 1931 Alfa Romeo 6C with bodywork by Zagato, which served as inspiration.
Inside, the cabin is upholstered in red Connolly leather and red Alcantara. The only exceptions are the pedals, the open-gate manual gearshift lever, the analog instrument dials, and a few decorative elements on the steering wheel.
The boldest application of color is on the carbon fiber monocoque itself. The Capricorn engineering team in Düsseldorf developed a special resin with a red tint for the fiber weave, allowing the color to be integrated into the structure without compromising its strength. The engine bay follows the same logic: parts subjected to the most heat are left black to ensure durability.
Technical specifications and power
The mechanical part remains unchanged compared to the other prototypes in the program. The mid-mounted 5.2-liter supercharged V8 engine, based on Ford’s 5.0-liter block, produces 888 hp (662 kW / 900 PS) and 1000 Nm of torque. This power is sent to the rear wheels via a five-speed CIMA manual gearbox of the “dogleg” type.
With a dry weight of less than 1200 kg, this exotic car promises to accelerate to 100 km/h in under 3 seconds, with a top speed reaching 360 km/h.
Production and future of the model
According to Capricorn representatives, the third prototype embodies a series of technical improvements that will be applied to future production models. Following its public debut at Villa d’Este on May 16, the Tutto Rosso will return to test tracks for final calibration.
Production of the 01 Zagato model is limited to 19 examples, a reference to the founding year of the Zagato atelier, 1919. The price starts at 2.95 million euros (approximately 3.43 million dollars) before taxes. Capricorn reports that only a few slots in the production program remain available.
This project demonstrates how modern carbon fiber manufacturing technologies allow the integration of color directly into the body structure, marking a significant step forward in the personalization of hypercars. Beyond the aesthetic aspect, this approach may offer practical advantages, as painting the monocoque from the inside is often a complex task. It is also worth noting that the use of a Ford engine in an Italian-German supercar underscores the global nature of modern automotive engineering, where the best components are sourced from around the world to create unique machines. Limited to a run of 19 units and priced at over 3 million dollars, this model is not just a car but a true work of art on wheels, accessible only to the most discerning collectors.
