Stellantis confirms launch of new Alfa Romeo SUV, flagship car, and two Maserati models

New Alfa Romeo and Maserati models under Stellantis strategy

Stellantis’ strategy called FaSTLAne 2030 involves launching 60 new and 50 updated models across the brand portfolio. Alfa Romeo and Maserati are also participating in this process, confirming several interesting new products.

Alfa Romeo new models

Alfa Romeo announced a new C-SUV and a limited flagship model, which are separate from the upcoming successors of the outdated Stelvio and Giulia. In the official presentation, the new models were hidden, but the webcast allowed a glimpse of the crossover in the form of a mockup.

The currently unnamed model has a sporty appearance, suggesting a possible return of the Giulietta name. It features aggressive LEDs, a larger-than-usual Trilobo grille, and an aerodynamic roofline. Overall, it looks like an intermediate step between the subcompact Junior and the compact Tonale, potentially competing with the Cupra Formentor, VW T-Roc, and Toyota C-HR.

Like most Stellantis products, the new C-SUV is likely to be offered with hybrid and fully electric powertrains. It is also expected to feature the new STLA SmartCockpit infotainment system.

Flagship Alfa Romeo model

The other new Alfa Romeo model is a “Bottega Fuoriserie” product, which is an extension of the limited 33 Stradale series. However, unlike the mid-engine supercar, this vehicle has a hatchback or shooting brake body. It will likely evoke the style of a classic model from Alfa Romeo’s history and share a platform with Maserati.

Maserati new models

As for the Maserati brand, it will expand its lineup with an SUV and a grand tourer, which will be positioned in the E-segment. The first is likely to become the successor to the discontinued Levante, positioned above the Grecale, which will soon receive an update along with the GranTurismo and GranCabrio.

The other model has a low silhouette with a long hood and a grand tourer stance, reminiscent of the Ferrari 12Cilindri. Its sharp nose resembles the 2016 Maserati Alfieri concept, but the dimensions seem larger. The pushed-back cabin and sloped roof indicate that the car will have a two-seat interior, unlike the 2+2 layout of the GranTurismo and GranCabrio.

Although technical specifications are not disclosed, it is expected that the Maserati E-segment models will be equipped with internal combustion engines rather than electric powertrains.

Thus, both brands are actively preparing to update their model lineups, betting on a variety of body types and powertrains. Alfa Romeo focuses on compact and exclusive models, while Maserati concentrates on more traditional segments for itself, offering both crossovers and powerful grand tourers. This indicates Stellantis’ desire to cater to different customer tastes while maintaining the individuality of each brand.
