A rare Toyota Crown S41, considered the only known example of this model in Ukraine, has been found in Odesa. The Japanese sedan was owned by one family for over four decades and recently changed owners. Auto blogger Roma Urraco writes about this.
The car was purchased back in 1985 in what was then Leningrad. According to the author of the post, the car was bought from the widow of a nuclear submarine sailor who died from radiation sickness after a radiation leak on the vessel.

After moving to Odesa, the sedan was actively used. They traveled not only around Ukraine but also went to the Baltic states and Leningrad.
Until 2016, the Toyota Crown S41 remained operational and was used regularly.
Toyota Crown S41 turned out to be an export version with left-hand drive
Under the hood of the classic sedan is a 1.9-liter Toyota 3R gasoline engine producing 90 hp.
The found car is an export modification with left-hand drive. These were the versions supplied to the European market at the time.
Despite its respectable age, the car has been preserved in a condition close to factory original. The design and appearance have virtually no foreign modifications or non-original elements.

According to the author of the find, the sedan could be a good basis for further restoration.
Second-generation Toyota Crown is considered a rarity even in Europe
The Toyota Crown S41 belongs to the second generation of the model, which was produced in the 1960s.
At the time of its debut, the car was one of the flagships of the Japanese brand Toyota and was considered a representative of the premium segment.

Today, such cars are extremely rare even outside Japan, and export versions with left-hand drive are of particular value among collectors.
It is currently known that the Odesa specimen has already received a new owner who plans to keep the car in as original condition as possible.
