Audi Hints at the Revival of Sports Cars with a Mysterious Concept in Munich

Audi’s Preparation for the Munich Motor Show

The Munich Motor Show will begin on September 9th, and German automakers will be in the spotlight. Among them, Audi is preparing to attract attention with the debut of a brand-new sports concept car.

Teasers and Nods to History

The company has already launched an advertising campaign by publishing two new teasers on social media. The first one focuses on the TT model and states: “Legends of the past are the blueprints for the future.”

The video showcases a range of other models, including classic race cars and the Avus concept. Although the new concept is not shown, Audi noted: “For more than a century, we have explored the limits of the possible. Shaping the industry with the desire to move forward.”

Tribute to Historical Models

The second teaser pays tribute to the Auto Union Type C and D race cars. These “Silver Arrows” redefined performance and had lightweight aluminum bodies, as well as a mid-engine layout that was “years ahead of its time.”

Details of the New Concept

Although Audi does not reveal many details about its latest concept, CEO Gernot Döllner recently stated that it is their “TT Moment 2.0.” The executive also confirmed that the car will be electric and will occupy a position “somewhere between” the TT and the R8.

Expectations and Possible Platforms

A hidden image of the concept suggests it will be smaller than the A5 Coupe and Convertible, which makes sense, as the company is expected to offer a new sports car based on the electric Porsche 718. In fact, in April, spy photographers captured a possible mule, indicating that work on the production model is already underway.

Given that the advertising campaign is just beginning, we can expect more information about the concept before its debut next month.

This launch could be an important step for Audi in its electric transformation, demonstrating how the brand plans to combine its rich sporting heritage with future technologies. Positioning it between the TT and R8 indicates that the company is trying to fill a gap in its product lineup, offering a product that combines accessibility with high performance in the new era of electric vehicles.
