Audi Has Changed Its Mind About Hiding Internal Combustion Engines

While the auto world is focused on power outlets and gigafactories, Audi has decided: things are not so clear-cut. CEO Gernot Döllner stated that the company no longer plans to completely abandon internal combustion engines by 2033.

Apparently, the previous management was too optimistic, and now is the time for flexibility and a healthy balance. So instead of a farewell party for gasoline — a new lineup of cars with internal combustion engines, hybrids, and even hot RS versions. And all of this — by 2026.

So, it’s not over yet. There will still be a chance to experience real drive in a new Audi that doesn’t whine, but roars. And who knows — maybe there will be more of them on Ukrainian roads, if our fans of cars with character haven’t had time to become disillusioned with a future without exhaust.

By the way, Audi has received another important role — it will become the leader in developing the new universal SSP platform for the entire Volkswagen Group. The first models on this architecture are promised to be shown as early as 2027–2028.

So, electric is good, but real engines will live on. And it seems they will do so loudly.
