German tuning atelier Brabus is taking a significant step by integrating Bentley models into its core portfolio. Previously, modifications of cars from this brand were carried out through the sub-brand Startech, but now, under its own name, Brabus presents the powerful 900 Superblack coupe and 900 Cabriolet, based on the latest generations of the Continental GT and GTC.
Power and Dynamics
The heart of the project was a deep modification of the powertrain. The plug-in hybrid system retained the standard electric motor but received a significantly updated 4.0-liter bi-turbo V8 engine. The engine was equipped with specially developed turbochargers, a new carbon fiber air intake, and a reprogrammed control unit. As a result, the total output increased by 117 horsepower and 100 Nm of torque, reaching an impressive 888 hp (662 kW) and 1100 Nm. This level of power puts the car in the supercar league.
Thanks to this, the acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h for both modifications has been reduced to 2.9 seconds, which is several tenths faster than the standard figures. The top speed is electronically limited at 335 km/h for the coupe and 285 km/h for the convertible.
Exterior: Aggressive Styling
The car’s exterior has been completely reimagined. It received a full carbon fiber body kit, including a redesigned front splitter with new air intakes, a small trunk spoiler, and a rear diffuser. The latter now houses four exhaust tips connected to a stainless steel exhaust system with active flaps, tuned for the perfect sound.
The wheel rims have also been replaced with exclusive forged 22-inch Monoblock ZM Platinum Edition in black for strength. Bentley branding has been completely removed: the winged “B” on the hood and trunk lid has been replaced with carbon fiber inserts.
Luxurious Interior
The interior received the signature Brabus Masterpiece treatment. Almost every surface in the cabin, including the luggage compartment, is upholstered in perforated leather with characteristic stitching. “B” emblems are embossed into the material, and carbon fiber inserts have appeared on the dashboard, door cards, and sills, emphasizing the car’s sporty character.
Price and Availability
The modified Brabus 900 Coupe and Cabriolet are offered as complete cars, as well as conversion packages for existing Continental GT and GTC models. The starting prices correspond to the exclusivity: the coupe starts from 489,200 euros, and the convertible from 538,800 euros (before taxes). For comparison, the base price of a standard Bentley Continental GT Speed in the same market starts at approximately 293,200 euros. The price difference underscores the status and individuality that Brabus offers its clients.
The chassis underwent fewer changes. The company installed a 20 mm lowering module for a more planted look and improved handling, considering that the serial Continental GT and GTC are already equipped with advanced active air suspension and can be fitted with high-performance carbon-ceramic brakes.
This project clearly demonstrates the trend where tuning ateliers are moving from simple modifications to creating full-fledged alternatives to original premium brand models. Brabus didn’t just increase the power of the Bentley; they created their own, recognizable version with unique design and materials, aimed at the most discerning buyers for whom the level of personalization and exclusivity outweighs the price. Such projects also serve as an indicator of how flexible the platform of a modern car can be, even one as complex and expensive as the Continental GT, allowing for such profound engineering and aesthetic changes.
