It looks like a regular Alfa Romeo, but under the hood hides an American powerhouse

Rare Zagato TZ3 Stradale is up for sale again

Some cars are rare. Some are beautiful. But cars like this one combine both qualities to the fullest. The legendary Italian atelier Zagato has created some of the most impressive cars in history, and 15 years ago, they introduced the TZ3 Stradale—one of their finest projects.

Larger, more powerful, and possibly more attractive than the 8C Competizione of its time, the TZ3 is limited to just nine examples worldwide. Now, one of these unique cars is up for sale again.

American foundation with Italian character

Each TZ3 began its life as a Dodge Viper but received a completely new body. The front features a massive grille, aggressive headlights, and an incredibly shaped hood. Zagato also reworked the car’s profile, altering the roofline and window dimensions.

Thanks to the widened cabin, the designers were able to create a unique rear end with exposed carbon fiber. This example is painted in dark blue metallic and has spent most of its time in a collection in Arizona.

The interior retains the basics of the Viper but features new upholstery in black and brown leather. The steering wheel, gear shift levers, and other elements remain original, blending American muscle with Italian charm.

Under the hood is a naturally aspirated 8.4-liter V10 with 640 hp, developed with input from Lamborghini. The engine is paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. This TZ3 has only 1,863 miles on the odometer and is priced at $675,000. Interestingly, last August at the Pebble Beach auction, this car was sold for $632,000—and it hasn’t been used since.

The price of the TZ3 Stradale continues to rise, confirming its status not just as a modified Viper but as a true collector’s item. Limited production, unique design, and powerful engineering make it one of the most intriguing cars of the last few decades. At the same time, it remains a driver’s car, not just a museum piece—which further enhances its appeal to enthusiasts.
