This Fox Body Mustang Hits Harder Than Your Favorite 90s Mixtape Cassette

Presentation of the Fox Body Mustang Restomod

Velocity used the SEMA show to present what they call “the world’s first serial restomod of the Ford Mustang Fox Body.” This car is described as “an exclusive creation that reimagines the performance icon of a whole generation through world-class engineering, design, and craftsmanship.”

Exterior and Chassis

The 1991 Mustang LX model, which looks incredibly cool, was completely redesigned from the ground up and mounted on a Roadster Shop SPEC chassis. The car features a Jet Black exterior finish with a two-inch high cowl hood, as well as side splitters from Carter’s Customs.

They are complemented by 18-inch billet wheels, shod in Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires, along with a six-piston Baer braking system that provides control over the vehicle.

Interior Updates

The updates also affected the interior, which has been completely redesigned but remains recognizable. Drivers sit behind a specially designed dashboard and see Autometer and Dakota Digital dials in front of them.

The restomod also received heated Recaro Expert M seats, as well as a specially designed Sparc steering wheel. In addition, the interior features an Alcantara headliner, a unique center console, and door panels.

The list of changes is completed by a Vintage Air climate control system and a Blaupunktur Frankfurt head unit, which works in tandem with a Focal audio system.

Fox Body Mustang with a powerful engine

Engine Power

Under the hood, a Ford Performance 5.0-liter Coyote V8 engine is installed, equipped with a 3.0-liter Whipple supercharger. This allows the car to develop 800 hp at the rear wheels.

The engine is paired with a ten-speed automatic transmission that sends power to the rear wheels via a carbon fiber driveshaft. The model also has a 9-inch rear axle and engine bay closure panels.

Future Plans

Although the company calls this car a unique halo project, Velocity plans to add it to its Signature Series in 2026. It will join the 67-68 Mustang models, as well as classic Ford trucks and the International Scout. The cost of such cars starts at approximately $200,000, but the exact price of the Fox Body Mustang has not yet been disclosed.

This project demonstrates how modern technologies can bring classic models to life, preserving their spirit while significantly increasing performance and comfort. The growing popularity of restomods indicates that car enthusiasts increasingly appreciate the combination of history and innovation, making such projects promising in the collector car market.
