YangWang U9 Track Edition: A New Era in the World of Electric Hypercars
The Chinese automaker BYD is preparing to launch a powerful version of its YangWang U9 hypercar. The Track Edition will receive four electric motors with a combined output of nearly 3,000 hp, making it one of the most powerful production cars in the world. For comparison, the standard version has 1,287 hp.
Key features of the model include:
Technical Details and Design
Despite the impressive technical specifications, the external changes in the Track Edition are quite moderate. The car has received a new splitter to improve downforce, a lightweight carbon fiber roof, and 20-inch wheels with tires of the same width front and rear.
This is an incredible figure for a road car, especially one that can be legally used on public roads
The question of whether all four engines will operate at full power simultaneously remains open. BYD has not yet confirmed whether the power will be limited for easier handling.
When the Bugatti Veyron appeared 20 years ago, its thousand horsepower seemed incredible. Today, electric vehicles are setting new standards: the Rimac Nevera R offers 2,107 hp, the Lotus Evija – 1,972 hp. But the YangWang U9 Track Edition is set to surpass even these figures.
Official documents from the Chinese ministry indicate a top speed of 350 km/h, however, experts suggest the car’s real potential could be higher. This is especially considering that the standard version has already demonstrated impressive results on the track.
The development of electric hypercars has accelerated in recent years, and Chinese manufacturers have actively joined this race. The YangWang U9 Track Edition could become a serious competitor to European models, offering not only record-breaking technical specifications but also a unique approach to design and aerodynamics. Its appearance on the market could change perceptions of what modern electric vehicles are capable of.
