Some Lexus Models to Cease Production Soon

Lexus Discontinues Production of Several Models

Lexus has announced the discontinuation of a number of its models in November 2025. Among them are most modifications of the IS sedan, RC coupe, and the electric version of the UX crossover. A message appeared on the company’s official website:

“Thank you for your interest in our cars. Production of the IS 500 / IS 350 / IS 300h (AWD) / IS 300 / RC 350 / RC 300h and RC 300 will cease in November 2025.”

Final Editions and Future Plans

The limited edition RC F “Final Edition,” which is already sold out, was particularly popular. These models will remain on sale only until production is completed. Only the rear-wheel-drive version of the IS 300h for the Japanese market will continue to be produced.

The news did not come as a surprise, as the IS and RC have been on the market for 12 years. During this time, they have received several design updates. Rumor has it that a new generation of the IS may appear in 2026 with electric and hybrid versions. The RC coupe will likely not get a successor – instead, Lexus is developing a new sports model that will replace both the RC and the LC.

The electric UX 300e crossover will also cease to exist in 2025. According to Japanese media, production of the hybrid version, the UX 300h, will be discontinued by the end of the 2025 fiscal year. Despite this, the compact crossover segment remains popular, so it is likely that the UX will get a new generation.

Lexus’s decision reflects a general trend among automakers to update their lineups and transition to electric vehicles. At the same time, the company is retaining certain hybrid options, demonstrating flexibility in its development strategy. Future models are likely to be more focused on modern technology and changing consumer needs.
