Unusual Pickup Truck Based on BMW M4
Although BMW has created several pickup truck concepts based on its models over the past decades, including a unique E30 M3 for internal factory use and a playful E92 M3, the company has never seriously released a cargo version of its modern M sports cars. This niche is filled by the tuning industry, and a vivid example is the DinMann M4 Maloo project.

DinMann M4 Maloo Project
The modern BMW M4 Competition is one of the most balanced sports cars on the market. However, if the standard version seems too ordinary, this unusual build, first spotted by Motor1, could become a real find for fans of unique cars.
The car, known as the M4 Maloo, is a tribute to one of Australia’s most iconic powerful “utes” from Holden. This custom BMW was built by the American company DinMann several years ago and first presented at the SEMA show in late 2022. It transforms from an elegant two-door coupe into a low-profile pickup truck and looks truly epic.
Currently, the car is offered for $145,000, with a mileage of 12,070 kilometers. This amount is more than double the typical market price of a used M4 Competition, considering that a new model starts from $86,400. For most buyers, this is probably unjustifiably expensive, but there will be someone willing to pay a significant premium for something truly unique.

What changes were made?
From the front, the car looks almost like a standard G82 M4, except for the custom DinMann front spoiler, hinting at unusual changes in the rear. The front fenders received deflectors, and the car is mounted on matte black HRE wheels. The real transformation begins right behind the seats, where the original roof was cut off to make room for a surprisingly spacious pickup truck bed.
Serious changes also affected the technical components, which partly justifies the high price. For example, the M4 is equipped with a Wagner Tuning carbon intake manifold, upgraded turbochargers, a GTHaus exhaust system, and the engine now runs on E85 fuel thanks to appropriate chip tuning.

There are no exact figures on the power the car develops after the modifications, but it is undoubtedly enough to instantly spin the rear wheels.
This project clearly demonstrates how wide the possibilities for creativity are when the official manufacturer’s frameworks do not limit imagination. Creating a pickup truck based on a sports coupe is not just a technical task, but a bold engineering and design statement. Such experiments, despite their niche nature, often become a source of inspiration for future trends and show alternative paths for the development of the automotive industry outside of mass production. The cost of such a car is determined not only by the costs of reworking but also by its exclusivity and status as a moving art object.
