New Toyota RAV4: Updated Design and Technologies
The sixth generation of the Toyota RAV4 has received an updated design and improved technologies. This model, which has become one of the most popular in the world, now offers hybrid and plug-in hybrid variants, as well as a new sporty GR Sport version.
The exterior of the RAV4 remains recognizable but with more modern details. Three styles are available: Core, Sport, and Rugged, as well as special Woodland and GR Sport editions. The front end features sharper LED headlights, a new radiator grille, and larger air intakes. The rear now has LED taillights in a band-like design.
Updated Interior and Technical Improvements
The interior now includes a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel and a large touchscreen infotainment system. Toyota has also introduced the new Arene platform, which enhances the multimedia system and safety features.
“This is the first step toward fully software-defined vehicles,” Toyota notes.
Technical updates include a reinforced body structure, improved noise insulation, and new hybrid powertrains. The hybrid version now delivers 226 hp (front-wheel drive) or 236 hp (all-wheel drive), while the plug-in hybrid produces 320 hp with an electric range of up to 80 km.
The new Toyota RAV4 is expected to go on sale in the U.S. by the end of 2025. Pricing will be announced closer to the launch. Although the model did not receive an entirely new platform, engineers have made significant changes to its construction and equipment, making it more modern and competitive in the crossover market.
