Ford Announces 98th Recall: Drivers May Be Left Without Lighting

Ford and Lincoln Recall Thousands of Vehicles Due to Lighting Issues

Companies Ford and Lincoln have announced a recall of nearly 22 thousand vehicles due to a potential malfunction in the lighting system. The problem concerns burnt-out diodes, which can lead to the failure of headlights, turn signals, and taillights. The recall affects 2025 models: Mustang, Mustang Mach-E, and Lincoln Nautilus.

According to the investigation, the malfunction was first detected in March at the Changan Ford plant in China when problems with the headlights of the Lincoln Nautilus were found during an inspection. Eight more vehicles with similar malfunctions were later discovered. Ford has already received nine complaints from the plant and eight warranty claims regarding the Nautilus in China, but no cases involving the Mustang have been recorded so far.

What Should Owners Do?

Drivers may notice the problem by a rapid blinking of the turn signal indicator or a “Advanced Front Lighting Feature Temporarily Unavailable” warning on the instrument panel. Owners of the Nautilus and Mustang Mach-E are advised to contact a dealer to replace the LED driver modules. Mustang owners should also visit a service center, where the module serial numbers will be checked and replaced if necessary.

This is already the 98th recall for Ford in the last nine months, raising questions about the company’s product quality. Although the main impact of the problem has been recorded in China, the global scale of the recall indicates potential risks for all markets. Ford continues to investigate the causes of the diode burnouts to prevent similar situations in the future.
