Bugatti Hypercar W16 Mistral Blanc Éternel Coated in Porcelain at the Factory

Bugatti has unveiled one of the final bespoke versions of the W16 Mistral roadster, named the Blanc Éternel. The car features a finish with genuine porcelain, created in collaboration with the German manufactory Königliche Porzellan-Manufaktur Berlin (KPM). Carscoops reports on this.

Despite the unusual concept, the hypercar’s body is not made entirely of porcelain. The main part of the body is painted white, while porcelain inserts were used on the engine cover, fuel filler cap, oil filler cap, and EB emblems.

The porcelain elements on the engine cover are adorned with the royal scepter of KPM Berlin. Bugatti notes that manufacturing the parts required high precision, as porcelain shrinks by approximately 17% during firing. Because of this, all blanks were initially made larger so that after heat treatment they would perfectly match the required dimensions.

After applying the white coating, craftsmen manually added dozens of thin black lines. They replicate the digital NURBS model of the body surface, showcasing geometry usually hidden beneath the final paintwork.

The porcelain trim continues inside the cabin as well. This material was used for the gearshift lever, decorative audio system trims, the central armrest, knee pads, and window switch toggles.

The black graphic pattern was also transferred onto the white leather upholstery. To achieve this, each interior element was manually masked before applying the pattern directly onto the leather.

Alongside the car’s presentation, Bugatti and KPM released a limited collection of Blanc Éternel porcelain items, which includes To-Drive Cup and Aviator Cup in two sizes. The total production run of the series is 1000 handmade pieces.

At the same time, Bugatti announced the completion of W16 Mistral production. The company produced only 99 units of this model in total, after which it showcased several of the most unusual bespoke configurations created for clients from various countries.
