What Tires Are Installed on the Fastest Cars in the World

The current winter in Ukraine harshly ‘trolled’ those who spent money on studded tires. And although it is still unclear whether there will be frosts and snow, it is never too late to buy summer tires. In the meantime, we suggest you find out what tires shod the fastest cars on the planet.

For an ordinary car enthusiast, buying tires is a banal necessity that, although it requires expenses, does not require capital ones. It’s a different story for supercar owners – if they wanted to burn rubber, ride on a track, or heat up on the autobahn, sooner or later they will have to spend a very substantial amount on new shoes.

Let’s start with the most expensive and fastest production car of today. More precisely, two cars – the Bugatti Veyron and the Bugatti Chiron. Although the Veyron is older and no longer in production, a set of tires (including tire mounting) is estimated at $42,000. And they need to be changed every 4,000 kilometers!

As for the Bugatti Chiron, tires and re-shoeing are estimated significantly cheaper – at $30,000.

This is because the new Bugatti model has wheels with standard rim geometry and a standard installation process that does not require special equipment. The tire model is Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2.

The same tires are used for the Koenigsegg One: 1, although, specifically for the Swedish hypercar, Michelin slightly reworked them. It is worth noting that today there is practically one model on the market for cars capable of exceeding 400 km/h, and that is precisely the Pilot Sport Cup 2.

Other Koenigsegg models – Regera and Agera RS – are shod in Michelin Supersport, which also allows them to go 400 km/h, but not faster.

Speaking of the fastest Porsche 918 Spyder, this super-hybrid also wears the same Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2.

Lamborghini for more than half a century has been outfitting its supercars in Pirelli tires. Modern Lambos often ride on P Zero and Trofeo R tires. The same goes for Pagani, although, this hypercar manufacturer also uses the P Zero Corsa model.

The legendary model McLaren F1 in its time was shod exclusively in Goodyear F1, and now British supercars are shod in Pirelli.

A few words – and about the fastest supercar Ultima RS in the history of the brand. For a car capable of reaching 402 km/h, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 is offered as base, and for an extra charge – Michelin Pilot Sport 4S.

In conclusion – the most expensive tires for a road-going supercar. Can you guess the model?

Its name is the Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo.

It costs $5.16 million, and the tires for it… $93,000!
