Kia protested the EV4 at the Nürburgring, covering 10,000 km, but not for speed

Kia EV4 undergoes intensive testing in Europe

Kia introduced the electric EV4 in two variants – a sedan and a hatchback. At the end of July, the company published details of one of the most challenging tests during the model’s development – 10,000 kilometers on the legendary Nürburgring track in Germany.

The manufacturer published photos of the camouflaged EV4 on European roads, even though the official presentation had taken place months earlier. Testing at the Nürburgring was part of a 110,000-kilometer endurance verification program.

“To provide customers with a reliable car, we tested the EV4 in real and extreme conditions,” stated the Product Development Manager of Hyundai Motor Europe.

Technical features and warranties

All EV4 versions are built on a 400-volt architecture and are equipped with a 201-horsepower electric motor. Although the model is not positioned as a sports car, Kia’s engineering experience allows for the creation of a “hot” version in the future.

Testing in various climatic conditions and under load demonstrates Kia’s serious approach to the durability of electric vehicles. The results of preserving battery capacity after intensive use are particularly impressive – this could become a significant argument for potential buyers.
