Imagine a camper that not only travels the world but has… its own rooftop terrace. This is exactly the kind of mobile home created by engineers from China—the futuristic motorhome Qixing RV Star Milk River Motorhome Villa Ford, which at first seems like an ordinary van, but then—unfolds like a transformer from a sci-fi movie.

The base for this “villa on wheels” was taken from the Ford Transit T8 with an extended wheelbase. Under the hood is a 2.3-liter diesel engine with 171 hp paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission. An aluminum body with composite panels makes the structure lighter—which is important for a mobile home that, by the way, weighs about 4.7 tons.

But the main thing is the lifting roof. In its folded state, it covers the top part of the camper, and when open—it transforms into an open terrace with furniture, lighting, and power outlets. Although it’s not a full-fledged “second floor,” it looks impressive. A lightweight metal ladder from the inside leads right to the roof—and now you’re in your mini-gazebo with a view of nature.

Inside, everything is also top-notch: a king-size double bed, a full kitchen, a shower, a toilet, a Daikin air conditioner, heating, a 400 Ah battery, and a 300 W solar panel. Versions with larger batteries (up to 800 Ah) and more powerful solar panels (up to 1.6 kW) are also available.
Despite being only 6 meters long, the interior is designed for six passengers. And all this—in the format of a compact house that easily sets off on a journey at the owner’s first wish.
And a bit more about the price. On international platforms, this two-story camper costs from $128,000 to $158,000—which is quite modest for such a technological solution.
