Updated Lamborghini Urus Performante to receive hybrid powertrain
Lamborghini is preparing an updated version of its powerful Urus Performante SUV. The prototype is already undergoing testing on the Nürburgring track, showcasing design changes and a new hybrid powertrain.
Externally, the model received an updated front end with a modified radiator grille, revised air intakes, and a new daytime running light design. The rear has also been updated—featuring a new bumper, diffuser, and a more massive spoiler. Additionally, updates to the rear lights and tailgate are expected.
Technical changes
The main innovation is the hybrid powertrain, which will replace the conventional gasoline engine. It will include:
This system in the standard Urus SE produces 789 hp, accelerating the car to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds. The top speed is 312 km/h, and the electric range is 56 km.
Interestingly, the current version of the Urus Performante with a gasoline engine accelerates slightly faster (3.3 seconds) but has a lower top speed—306 km/h. At the same time, the addition of the hybrid system may affect the vehicle’s weight, which contradicts the concept of the “lightweight” Performante version previously positioned through the use of carbon fiber.
The official presentation of the updated Urus Performante is expected to take place soon. The company will likely preserve the model’s sporting character despite the transition to hybrid technologies. This could be an important step for the brand in the context of the general trend towards electromobility, especially considering Lamborghini’s plans to fully electrify its model range by 2028.
