Unique Lincoln Continental Concept with an Aston Martin Engine
In the early 2000s, Lincoln was a brand that stuck to traditions, offering a lineup of cars that did not meet modern design trends. In 2002, the company had five main models, most of which looked outdated. However, the Continental Concept appeared, promising to usher Lincoln into the new millennium with a 12-cylinder engine.
Unfortunately, Lincoln and Ford management never dared to put this model into serial production. However, now there is an opportunity to purchase the only existing example.
Power and Luxury
The 6.0-liter V12 from Aston Martin produced 414 hp and 559 Nm of torque, transferring power to the rear wheels via a 6-speed automatic transmission.
Externally, the concept combined modern trends with retro elements of classic Continentals. The car received 22-inch wheels, rear-hinged rear doors with power operation. The interior impressed with luxury: from built-in umbrellas to a flip-down laptop in the rear console.
Future of the Auction
Initially, there were two prototypes: one a non-functional mockup, the other a functional one, which is the one to be sold. Although the car cannot be registered for public roads, it remains a valuable exhibit for collectors. The auction will take place on September 20 in Chicago, and despite the lack of an estimate, this concept will undoubtedly become a remarkable piece of automotive history.
This concept remains a testament to bold ideas that never got a chance for serial production. Its design and technical solutions still look progressive today, reminding us of the potential that could have changed the premium sedan market.
