Announcement of a New Special Edition
Lotus is reviving the Scura name for a new special edition of its sports car. This name first appeared on the Exige Scura model back in 2009, and now it has been assigned to the limited 2026 Lotus Emira Scura series.
Exterior and Design
The name, which translates from Italian as “darkness,” is fully justified in the design. The car is painted in matte Nebulous Grey with a glossy black roof and side mirrors. The 20-inch wheels are also finished in glossy black, behind which red brake calipers are visible.

The model also received special Scura badges and the so-called “Driver’s Pack,” which includes a sports suspension and high-performance Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires.
Interior Features
No official interior images have been published; however, it is known that the car will have a red leather steering wheel and seats upholstered in Alcantara with red contrast stitching. Other interior features include red seat belts, tinted windows, and a 10-speaker KEF audio system.
Technical Specifications
The manufacturer did not specify the technical details for the Scura edition itself, but the standard Emira offers two engine options. The first is a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine from Mercedes-AMG producing 400 horsepower. It is paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch automated transmission, allowing the car to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.8 seconds. The second option is a 3.5-liter naturally aspirated V6 with a 6-speed manual transmission, which accelerates the car to the same mark in 4.2 seconds.
Availability and Pricing
Production of the Emira Scura will begin this month. Only 60 units will be produced for the North American market. The price will be announced closer to the start of sales, but it is worth noting that the base version of the standard Emira starts at $106,900.
The appearance of the limited Scura series continues Lotus’s tradition of creating exclusive, “hardcore” versions of its production models, emphasizing the connection with motorsport. This strategy not only maintains interest in the brand among enthusiasts but also serves as a bridge between mass production and unique, collectible cars. The limited production run and the focus on driver-oriented design and technical details indicate that the Emira Scura is aimed at true brand aficionados who value not only performance but also individuality.
