The Japanese automaker Suzuki has introduced an updated version of the five-door off-roader Jimny Nomade. The model, which debuted in 2025, received a number of important updates, particularly in the areas of safety and comfort, while retaining its classic construction.
Exterior and New Colors
The car’s exterior appearance has hardly changed. The most noticeable detail is a new sensor installed above the radiator grille on the front bumper. The length of the off-roader is 3.89 meters. A new color option, Granite Gray Metallic, has been added to the palette, bringing the total number of body shades to seven. Owners can still choose additional accessories from the manufacturer or turn to Japanese tuning ateliers.
Updated Interior and Multimedia
The most important change in the interior is the optional 9-inch touchscreen system. It provides smartphone integration, has built-in navigation and a rearview camera. A standard 4.2-inch color display is installed between the analog instruments, showing basic vehicle information.
Updates also touched on details: LED interior lighting is now standard, audio system and phone control buttons have appeared on the steering wheel, and a USB port with a protective shutter has been added to the front compartment.
Technical Aspects and Safety Systems
The technical underpinnings remain the same. The off-roader continues to be equipped with a naturally aspirated 1.5-liter gasoline engine producing 101 hp. Torque is 130 Nm. The drive is four-wheel drive, with a choice of a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic transmission.
Significant changes have occurred in the suite of driver assistance systems (ADAS). The model received an updated Dual Sensor Brake Support II system, a low-speed braking support function, lane departure warning and prevention, and an expanded road sign recognition function. Adaptive cruise control has been added for vehicles with automatic transmission. Front and rear parking sensors are now standard equipment for all versions.
Price and Availability
The updated Suzuki Jimny Nomade in Japan costs from 2,926,000 yen (approximately $19,000 USD). The price is the same for versions with manual and automatic transmission. Compared to the previous version, the cost increased by 275,000 yen for the manual and by 176,000 yen for the automatic.
Among the optional offerings are an enhanced touchscreen system for 128,700 yen, two-tone body painting for 55,000 yen, and a special Craggy Style accessory package, which adds another 404,030 yen to the total.
High Demand and Buyer Lottery
Due to extremely high demand for the model, Suzuki has implemented a special ordering procedure. Potential buyers who submit an application from January 30 to February 28 will participate in a lottery. Standard ordering will only open on March 1. Production of the updated model will begin in July, as the company needs time to fulfill accumulated orders for the previous version of the Jimny Nomade.
It is worth noting that the five-door Jimny Nomade is supplied to Japan from the Suzuki plant in Gurugram, India. After the update for the Japanese market, similar changes are expected in other regions, including India itself and Australia.

The Jimny Nomade update clearly demonstrates Suzuki’s strategy: to improve the popular model by adding modern technologies without harming its time-tested reliability and character. The preservation of the ladder-frame construction and simple engine indicates that the car retains its core identity as an affordable and durable off-roader. Phenomenal demand and the need to hold a lottery for buyers only confirm that this formula continues to work. Such updates could make the model even more attractive in global markets, where the combination of classic design, unbeatable off-road capability, and new safety systems is the key to success.
