New Lucid Models: Affordable Off-Roaders and SUVs
Following the successful launch of the premium Gravity SUV and the Air sedan, Lucid is focusing on developing more affordable electric vehicles aimed at the mass market. It has already been confirmed that an SUV priced under $50,000 is in preparation, and two additional models on the same platform have been announced, including an off-roader inspired by the Gravity X concept.
Key details about future models:
Design and Features
Lucid released a teaser of the future model about a year ago. The new SUV, possibly named Earth, will inherit the brand’s signature features but will be noticeably more compact than the Gravity. Company management emphasized that the Gravity X concept will influence the appearance and character of one of the future midsize models.
This may include off-road elements such as increased ground clearance, all-terrain tires, specific bumpers, protective panels, and tow hooks. The design will combine Lucid’s elegance with a bolder, more adventurous spirit.
Timing and Challenges
However, we will have to wait before these cars appear on the market. Lucid plans to start production of the affordable electric crossover by the end of next year, but this requires additional funding. Once investments are secured, the company will be able to scale up production and likely launch the off-road version in early 2027.

After the launch of the midsize SUV and its off-road variant, Lucid will introduce a third model, details of which remain a secret for now. It is known that it will not be a sedan, and its release is expected by the end of 2028.
Derek Jenkins, Senior Vice President of Design and Brand at Lucid, noted that the company aims to transfer technologies from more expensive models to more affordable options to attract a wider range of customers and accelerate the transition to electric vehicles.
We are working on our midsize program, and of course, these will be more compact and lighter cars with a focus on aerodynamics, efficiency, and space. They won’t be as fast as the Air, but they will be impressive and accessible to more people. Our goal is to make technologies accessible to a wider audience.
Interestingly, the choice of Saudi Arabia as a manufacturing hub for the new models may have strategic significance, considering regional investments in green technology and energy. Lucid is likely counting not only on the local market but also on export opportunities, which could make their cars even more competitive on a global scale.
