New Track Monster from HWA
Track days are becoming significantly more interesting thanks to the new HWA EVO R model. This car, created for customers, is largely inspired by the racing EVO.R. Only 15 units will be produced, each equipped with a twin-turbo V6 producing around 552 hp.
Heritage and Design
The HWA EVO.R racing car, a tribute to the 1990 Mercedes-Benz 190E Evo II, is preparing to compete in the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring this weekend. The company used this event to announce a brand new model called the EVO R. This is a purely track-focused car for customers, sharing the ‘core architecture’ with the racing car.
The model continues the traditions of the road-going sedan and features an aggressive carbon fiber body kit. This includes widened wheel arches, a redesigned hood, and NACA air intakes.
Technical Features
The designers also added polycarbonate windows, removable rear doors, and lightweight racing wheels from Ronal. Other features include a racing exhaust system and an integrated pneumatic jack system.
One look at the interior makes it clear that this car is built for business: it features a carbon fiber racing seat designed to provide ‘optimal driver positioning for a wide range of pilots.’ The model also has a racing steering wheel, carbon fiber elements, large toggle switches, as well as an FIA-certified roll cage and fuel cell.
It is quite extreme, but there are a few concessions for the consumer market. Key among these are an optional air conditioning system and a front passenger seat. Buyers can also go the other route and order a 24-hour lighting package and a drink system.

Engine and Chassis
The EVO R features a reinforced monocoque chassis and six-way adjustable racing suspension developed in collaboration with KW and H&R. These are joined by AP Racing racing brakes and a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 engine, which now produces 552 hp (412 kW / 560 PS) and 494 lb-ft (670 Nm) of torque. This is more than the road-going model’s 493 hp and 405 lb-ft (549 Nm) with the optional Affalterbach package.
The engine is connected to a six-speed sequential gearbox, and HWA hinted that the car is surprisingly accessible. As the company explained, the EVO R was ‘developed with ease of operation and handling in mind, making it accessible to drivers of any experience level.’
Limited Series and Price
Production will be limited to 15 units, and each will be built to order. Buyers will receive support under a ‘turnkey’ program that provides ‘access to experienced technicians, a specialized parts service, and invitations to exclusive events at every stage of ownership.’ HWA did not disclose the price for the Race Edition, but the standard EVO starts at approximately €714,000, or roughly $830,000 at current exchange rates.

Thus, HWA is not just creating another track car, but offering a real racing tool adapted for wealthy enthusiasts. The combination of the historical heritage of the 190E Evo II with modern technology and a limited production run makes this model not just a fast toy, but also a potential investment object. Interestingly, the company emphasizes accessibility of control, which could attract not only experienced racers but also newcomers seeking to experience a true racing atmosphere without excessive stress.
