Ford Ranger Super Duty Presentation
Large pickups are rarely known for modesty, and the new Ford Ranger Super Duty fully embraces this idea, combining muscle, utility, and accessories aimed at those who need more than just a vehicle for daily commutes. The latest member of the Ranger family is now detailed for Australia, including prices and specifications.
Priced above the Raptor, it is positioned as the toughest tool in Ford’s midsize pickup arsenal, but we won’t see it in North America.
Engine and Capabilities
Under the hood is a reworked 3.0-liter V6 turbo diesel that produces 207 hp (154 kW / 209 PS) and 600 Nm of torque. It has been modified to comply with stricter environmental regulations, which explains why its power is 40 hp less compared to the Ranger Platinum. A ten-speed automatic transmission sends power to all four wheels via a four-wheel-drive system, supplemented by standard front and rear differential locks.
The Ranger Super Duty has a reinforced frame, allowing it to tow up to 4,500 kg, matching the figures of the larger Ford F-150. The payload capacity is also increased to 1,982 kg. The pickup is available in Single Cab, Super Cab, and Double Cab configurations with different bed sizes and an overall length of 5,470 mm.
Optional Packages
Ford Australia emphasizes that the Super Duty is not a one-size-fits-all solution. For this purpose, three themed accessory packages are offered, each designed for different tasks, along with a long list of individual add-ons.
All three packages include a sturdy steel body, a 25-liter side water tank, a lockable tool storage box, and all-weather floor mats. The Work Pack adds an integrated device mounting system and a dashboard console, which can be useful on construction sites, along with yellow wheel nut indicators.
The Farm Pack includes an ARB Summit Bull Bar for additional protection and a more assertive look. Finally, the Adventure Pack combines the same bumper with a high-performance Warn winch and ARB Rock Sliders for off-road adventures. Buyers who prefer customization can also choose from a list of accessories that includes a rear ladder, door moldings, sticker kits, protective plates, cameras, and a dual-battery system with a charger.
Pricing and Availability
Prices for the 2026 Ranger Super Duty in Australia start from 82,990 Australian dollars (55,200 US dollars) for the Single Cab and 89,990 Australian dollars (59,700 US dollars) for the Double Cab, both excluding on-road costs. The accessory packages are far from trivial: the Work Pack costs 10,479 Australian dollars (6,900 US dollars), the Farm Pack — 14,629 Australian dollars (9,700 US dollars), and the Adventure Pack — 20,161 Australian dollars (13,300 US dollars). The cost of all three packages will increase after March 2026.
Ford’s configurator shows how quickly the numbers add up. A Single Cab Super Duty costs 97,680 Australian dollars (65,000 US dollars), which is approximately 432 Australian dollars (290 US dollars) more than the Ranger Raptor. If you choose a Double Cab with the Adventure Pack and several add-ons, the cost can reach around 133,000 Australian dollars (74,800 US dollars).
The first Ranger Super Duty units will arrive at Australian dealers in late 2026. Currently, Ford does not plan to supply the Super Duty to North America or Europe.
Given the growing demand for reliable and versatile vehicles, the Ranger Super Duty could become a key player in markets where payload capacity and the ability to operate in challenging conditions are important. Its focus on professional use and customization options make it attractive for various industries, from agriculture to construction. At the same time, its limited availability outside Australia may stimulate interest from collectors and enthusiasts seeking unique models.
