First Look at the Interior of the Updated Atlas
Volkswagen continues to build intrigue around the new three-row 2027 Atlas crossover, this time stunning the public with the first images of the fully updated cabin. The manufacturer promises that the interior has received a complete redesign and will now look more modern and premium.
Although the company is still hiding details, the teaser image clearly reveals a completely new instrument panel. The most attention is drawn to the large display for the front passenger, whose diagonal, according to preliminary estimates, could be 11.6 inches. The lower part of the dashboard is adorned with a wood trim.
Cabin Technology and Features
Additionally, the cabin will be equipped with a panoramic ambient lighting system, which is also integrated into the door trim. The photo also reveals a high-quality audio system with stylish speaker grilles at the base of the pillars.
The cabin, unsurprisingly, looks practically identical to the Teramont Pro model sold in the Chinese market. The only visible difference is a slightly different design of the door panel trim.

This allows us to expect a high-tech cabin with a possible set of up to six screens. These may include a digital instrument cluster, a 15-inch multimedia system, and the same 11.6-inch display for the passenger. The Chinese Teramont Pro also features augmented reality navigation and a premium 14-speaker Harman Kardon audio system.
What is Known About the Platform and Engine
In addition to technology, the ambient lighting system will likely offer up to 30 color options. Front seats with heating, ventilation, and massage functions are also expected, as well as heated second-row seats. Although the Teramont Pro even offers an aroma system, it is unlikely that this option will make it to the American version.
Despite numerous teasers and almost exposed spy photos, it is reported that the model will retain its 117.3-inch (2980 mm) wheelbase and the same roofline as the current crossover. However, the 2027 Atlas will transition to the newer MQB Evo platform and receive the new EA888 evo5 engine. In the Teramont Pro, this unit develops up to 268 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque, while in the Tiguan with the same power figure, the torque is slightly lower.
The premiere of the fully updated Volkswagen Atlas is scheduled for next month in New York. This move is part of Volkswagen’s strategy to strengthen its position in the competitive market of large family crossovers, where the Atlas has traditionally competed with giants like the Honda Pilot and Toyota Highlander. The emphasis on technology and a premium cabin could be a decisive argument for buyers looking not just for space, but also for a modern driving experience and comfort for all passengers. The success of this model will be important for the brand seeking to strengthen its presence in North America.
