Volvo EX60 2027: Sales launch and prices for North America

Volvo has officially announced the start of order acceptance for the new electric crossover EX60 2027 model year. The model was first presented back in January, and now the car has debuted on the North American market in New York. The base price starts from $58,400 USD, excluding the mandatory delivery fee of $1,395. This is almost $20,000 less than the cost of the older EX90 model, and $3,100 cheaper than the competitor BMW iX3.

Trims and equipment

The entry-level version EX60 P6 Plus offers a concise design and minimalist interior. The cabin is equipped with an 11.4-inch digital instrument panel and a 15-inch infotainment system with integrated Gemini and Google services. Standard equipment includes a Bose audio system with 21 speakers, the Pilot Assist driver assistance system, and the Safe Space safety technology suite.

The EX60 P6 Ultra version costs from $65,000. It offers a cabin with ventilated Nappa leather upholstery, heated second-row seats with integrated boosters, an electrochromic panoramic roof, and a premium Bowers & Wilkins audio system with 28 speakers.

Technical specifications: from 369 to 503 hp

Both P6 versions are equipped with a single electric motor on the rear axle producing 369 horsepower (275 kW) and 479 Nm of torque. This crossover accelerates to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 5.7 seconds, with a top speed limited to 112 mph (180 km/h).

The motor is powered by an 83 kWh battery, providing a range of up to 307 miles (494 km). Thanks to the 800-volt architecture and support for fast charging at 320 kW, adding 155 miles (249 km) of range takes only 10 minutes. Charging the battery from 10% to 80% takes just 16 minutes. Importantly, the EX60 features a native NACS port, providing access to the Tesla Supercharger network.

Next in the lineup is the EX60 P10 AWD version, available in Plus and Ultra trims priced at $60,750 and $67,350 respectively. It features two electric motors and an all-wheel drive system. Total output is 503 hp (375 kW) and 710 Nm of torque. Acceleration to 60 mph takes 4.4 seconds.

The P10 comes with a larger 95 kWh battery, increasing the range to 322 miles (518 km). Fast charging power rises to 370 kW, allowing up to 165 miles (266 km) of range to be added in 10 minutes. Charging time from 10% to 80% is also around 16 minutes.

Top-tier version P12: 670 hp and 400 miles (644 km) of range

Later, the most powerful modification, the EX60 P12 AWD, will hit the market. It will feature a 117 kWh battery and a dual-motor all-wheel drive system producing 670 horsepower (500 kW) and 790 Nm of torque. This crossover will be able to travel up to 400 miles (644 km) without recharging and accelerate to 60 mph in 3.8 seconds.

The Volvo EX60 is positioned as a more affordable alternative to the flagship EX90, while offering impressive technical specifications, especially in the P10 and P12 versions. Competition in the premium mid-size electric crossover segment is becoming increasingly fierce, and the Swedish manufacturer is betting on a combination of high performance, fast charging, and signature minimalist design. Particular attention should be paid to the presence of the NACS port, which significantly simplifies the charging process in North America. The arrival of the P12 version with over 373 miles (600 km) of range and 670 hp makes the EX60 a direct competitor to the most powerful versions of the Tesla Model Y and other high-performance electric vehicles.
