The McLaren lineup has expanded with a new GT coupe. The model is positioned as the most practical McLaren supercar. The car price – from 198 thousand euros. The new McLaren GT 2020 is created for long trips, which is why it has two trunks (420 liters at the back and 150 liters at the front) and a spacious cabin. This was achieved thanks to the considerable length of the car – 4.68 m.
At the same time, the carbon monocoque allowed keeping the weight at 1530 kg. Compared to other modern McLarens, the new GT looks quite restrained, though it retains the characteristic silhouette and signature upward-opening doors. The roof can be either carbon or transparent (with a tinting function).
Inside, the attention is drawn to the virtual cockpit with aviation-style graphics and the new generation multimedia system. Developers also claim that the mid-engine model has very good visibility.
The 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbo develops 620 hp and 630 Nm. With a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox, acceleration to 100 km/h takes 3.2 s, and the maximum speed is 326 km/h.
All McLaren GT 2020s come with adaptive dampers and carbon-ceramic brakes. The coupe has quite a decent ground clearance – it is adjustable within 110-130 mm. Moreover, the suspension is softer than other McLarens and is better adapted to low-quality roads, like ours.
