Update for the European Market
Mazda has introduced an updated version of the CX-30 for 2027 in Europe. The model, which debuted back in 2019, has not yet undergone a full facelift, however, the manufacturer continues to refine the compact crossover, focusing on new trims and enhanced safety equipment.
Exterior Changes and Colors
Design changes remain minimal. The European 2027 CX-30 adopts the same restrained features as the US 2026 model. This means top versions get a glossy black radiator grille, a darkened Mazda emblem, and corresponding badges on the rear body section.
The color palette has expanded to nine options with the addition of Aero Grey and Zinc Green shades, previously available for the MX-5 model. Inside the cabin, the manufacturer promises “improved materials, new surfaces, and optimized ergonomics, complemented by additional lighting and comfort features.”

Enhanced Safety Systems
In terms of safety, Mazda has improved the i-Activsense suite. Adaptive cruise control now interacts with the traffic sign recognition system, allowing the driver to accept a detected speed limit with a single press of a button on the steering wheel. The automatic emergency braking and blind-spot monitoring systems have been recalibrated to detect motorcycles. Additionally, the car has received a cross-traffic turn assist function, a secondary collision avoidance system, and driver fatigue alert.
New Homura Plus and Makoto Trims
For 2027, the European lineup has been expanded with a flagship Homura Plus trim and a special Makoto version. The Homura Plus comes standard with premium features such as a Bose audio system with 12 speakers, black leather upholstery, and a 360-degree surround-view camera. The key feature is the matrix LED headlights, which surpass the old adaptive system, adding pedestrian illumination and the ability to automatically dim around road signs.

Makoto Version
The Makoto trim essentially mirrors the US Aire Edition, featuring the same black exterior accents and 18-inch alloy wheels, but is supplemented with more advanced matrix headlights. Inside, it features light grey eco-leather seats, matching suede trim on the dashboard, a silver key fob, and branded floor mats with contrast stitching.
Other Lineup Updates
Mazda has also made smaller changes to other versions. The entry-level Prime-Line receives a matte black center console, black window trim, and new LED daytime running lights. The Centre-Line has additional ambient lighting for the center console, while the Exclusive-Line gets silver roof rails and a surround-view camera. An optional design package offers a glossy black center console and “gunmetal” accents inside. At the top of the range, the Takumi trim gets black decorative elements and ventilated seats.
Engines Without Turbocharging
Unlike the US version, which can have a turbo engine and standard all-wheel drive, the European model is offered only with naturally aspirated engines featuring mild hybrid technology. The 2.5-liter e-Skyactiv G engine produces 138 hp, while the flagship 2.0-liter e-Skyactiv X produces 183 hp. Most versions have front-wheel drive, but the more powerful engine can be paired with the i-Activ AWD system. Another difference is the availability of a six-speed manual gearbox as an alternative to the automatic transmission.

Prices in Europe
European buyers will face a significantly higher entry point compared to their US counterparts. In Germany, the base Prime-Line version starts at €29,990, the Makoto trim costs €34,440, and the flagship Takumi reaches €38,190. For comparison, the US 2026 version starts at $26,375, with the most expensive version costing $37,900.
Thus, the 2027 updates for the European CX-30 focus on safety and expanding trim choices, rather than a radical design change. The lack of a turbo engine and higher prices make the European version less attractive in terms of price-to-power ratio, however, the availability of a manual gearbox and improved matrix headlights could be compelling arguments for brand enthusiasts who value handling and modern lighting technology.
