Subaru Uncharted: Electric crossover becomes significantly more affordable for leasing
Subaru has introduced its own version of the fully electric Toyota C-HR, which has been named Uncharted. Although this name coincides with the 2022 Hollywood blockbuster starring Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg, the car has its own unique appeal that sets it apart in this highly competitive segment. This model can now be leased much cheaper than last year.
Impressive leasing offers in California
In California, the base version of the Uncharted Premium can be leased for $345 per month with an annual mileage of 10,000 miles and an initial payment of only $845. If the initial payment is distributed across monthly installments, the effective cost would be $368 per month over 36 months. This is $97 less per month compared to the previous offer.

This makes the new Uncharted cheaper to lease in some regions than the Crosstrek Hybrid. As Cars Direct notes, the Crosstrek Hybrid Sport is available for $339 per month in Los Angeles, but requires an initial payment of $3,829, which effectively raises the monthly cost to $445. A regular gasoline-powered Crosstrek can be leased for just $345 per month, so it is still cheaper than the Uncharted.
Thanks to these reductions in leasing rates, the Uncharted is now $11 cheaper per month than the updated Subaru Solterra Premium.
Savings across the country
Leasing offers vary by state, but price reductions have also occurred in several other regions, including New York. There, prices have dropped by 12 percent to an effective cost of $410 per month, including an initial payment of $885.
It is important to note that these figures apply exclusively to the base model, which has front-wheel drive and is equipped with a single electric motor. This motor produces 221 horsepower and is powered by a 74.7 kWh battery. Although the front-wheel-drive model cannot match the 338 horsepower of the dual-motor all-wheel-drive Sport and GT versions, it has the longest range among all Uncharted models, reaching up to 308 miles (496 km).
It is worth adding that such an aggressive pricing policy from Subaru indicates serious competition in the electric vehicle market. The reduction in the leasing cost of the Uncharted makes it more attractive to a wider range of buyers, especially in states with high environmental requirements for vehicles. While the base version with front-wheel drive does not offer Subaru’s traditional all-wheel drive, its significant range and affordable price could be decisive factors for those looking for a practical and economical electric car for daily commutes. This also shows that manufacturers are willing to make concessions to attract customers in a segment dominated by Tesla and other Chinese brands.
