A Unique Ferrari 412 with the Heart of a Supercar
This Ferrari 412 has nothing in common with ordinary cars. It is probably the most powerful and valuable 412 model modification in the world. Not a trace remains of the original engine – it has been replaced with something far more impressive. When money is no object and the goal is to create the absolute version of a car that no one even thinks of modernizing, this is precisely the result.
The American owner behind this transformation spent over $1.8 million to turn a relatively obscure Ferrari model into the wild machine you see. The work took Otsuka Maxwell Design studio over 5,000 hours. If the production 412 isn’t the coolest Ferrari, this version has charisma worthy of any modern model in the lineup.
The Core of the Transformation – The Powertrain
Undoubtedly, the main highlight is the engine. Under the hood now lives the same 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 as in the Ferrari 812 Superfast, but it has received a slight disguise. Custom valve covers gave the engine a more retro look, combining modern power with classic aesthetics.
The changes are not limited to appearance. The original direct fuel injection system was replaced with a port injection system. OMD also installed twelve individual throttle bodies along with a special intake and a carbon fiber airbox. Every detail was considered with performance and presentation in mind.
The fascination doesn’t end with the engine. The Ferrari F140GA engine is now paired with a six-speed manual gearbox with a metal gate. Ferrari never sold the 812 with a manual gearbox, so OMD took an automatic transmission from a 599 GTB and converted it into a “manual.”
More Than Just a Powerful Engine
A wonderful combination of Superfast Gold and black adorns the car’s exterior. The bumpers were modified, the fenders were widened, and the pop-up headlights were replaced with more modern and streamlined ones. The car also sits on custom 18-inch forged Brixton wheels.

The owner clearly spared no expense on the interior trim. It was completely redone using luxurious Alcantara and new leather. Seats with carbon fiber backs and Rolls-Royce-style carpets were also installed here.
The most noticeable feature of the interior is the Mongolian cashmere, which costs about $1,000 per yard. OMD added custom switches, a digital instrument cluster, and a modern infotainment display that look organic, not like foreign elements.
This is an impressive transformation that, however, was executed with a sense of unity and attention to detail rarely preserved in projects of this scale. Such projects demonstrate how modern technology and craftsmanship can breathe new life into a classic car, giving it a second wind and a completely new character, while not losing the spirit of the original. They become not just vehicles, but moving works of art, where every element tells a story of passion, innovation, and the limitless possibilities of customization.
