Production of the Lada XRay will not be resumed and the model will be liquidated. Sanctions made its production impossible. There are no parts for assembly, and it is impossible to create a basic version of VAZ without imported ABS or airbags.
The fact is, the Lada XRay crossover is built on the Renault-Nissan B0 platform (like Logan and Duster) and consists of about 30-40% imported components. For example, the steering and braking system are entirely made of foreign components.
A simple example: the last Lada XRays were assembled in simpler versions without the EnjoY Pro multimedia system, as its parts ran out. And after Renault sold VAZ for 1 ruble, you can finally forget about the supplies of French parts.
In Togliatti, they believe that a new simplified urban version of the Niva can replace the Lada crossover. However, it is also not being produced – AutoVAZ continues to be idle and constantly postpones the launch of the conveyor. Now they threaten to do it on May 27.
