Porsche Didn’t Create This Version of the 911, But They Should Have

Compact Porsche 911: A Ukrainian Designer’s Concept

Over the past decades, the Porsche 911 has significantly increased in size and weight. Although it remains one of the best sports models on the market, the increase in dimensions does not always benefit such cars. The question arises: could the modern 992 generation be even better if it retained the compactness of the original 911s?

Renders by Ukrainian designer Mykola Tarasenko provide a stunning answer to this question. His concept envisions a more compact, yet still modern, version of the 911. And the first impression is that it looks fantastic.

In his work, Tarasenko used the recognizable Porsche silhouette but made the front and rear sections more straight-lined than in recent generations. The round headlights, thin LED daytime running lights, and black radiator grille instantly grab attention.

The rear end, like in modern models, is equipped with an LED strip across the full width of the car. The Turbo version also received a large fixed spoiler on the trunk lid, adding aggressiveness and harking back to older 911 generations. Although the exhaust pipes look unusually small.

The eighth generation 911 has been in production since 2018, and an updated version appeared for the 2025 model year. Although the next generation will likely appear in 2-3 years, it is unlikely to be more compact than the current one. But no one forbids dreaming about it.

In recent years, Porsche has been actively experimenting with the electrification of its models, which could open up new possibilities for compact designs. Although traditional gasoline-powered 911s will likely remain in the lineup for a long time, changes in dimensions could become a compromise between modern technology and classic proportions.
