Skoda Peaq Presented: Three-Row Flagship Electric Vehicle with 647 km Range

New Electric Flagship Skoda: Peaq

Skoda has officially unveiled its new three-row electric crossover, the Peaq. This is the brand’s new flagship vehicle, surpassing even the Kodiaq in size.

The model, previewed by the Vision 7S concept, features the modern Modern Solid design. It includes T-shaped lighting units and a glossy black Tech-Deck Face. There is also a sculpted hood, angular air curtains, and a stylized lower air intake.

Moving on, the vehicle’s profile is distinguished by a sloping windshield that transitions into a long roof. The model has a streamlined body and is the first Skoda with flush door handles. This helps the Peaq achieve a drag coefficient of just 0.249.

Among other notable features are a distinctive glass roof and a massive rear pillar. The vehicle is equipped with wheels ranging from 19 to 21 inches, as well as a panoramic roof with a Dynamic Shade Control system. This system uses electricity to adjust the transparency, and according to Skoda, the roof is divided into nine separate segments that can be controlled individually.

The rear is relatively simple but features T-shaped taillights and a prominent spoiler. Buyers will also see a large “SKODA” inscription and an angular rear bumper.

Sportline Variant and Dimensions

Customers looking for a sportier option can choose the Sportline version. It features glossy black accents and badging, and a black roof is available. The Sportline interior includes black sports seats and a three-spoke sport steering wheel.

In terms of dimensions, the model has a length of 191.9 inches (4,874 mm) and a wheelbase of 116.7 inches (2,965 mm). This means the Peaq is 7.3 inches (185 mm) shorter than the Hyundai Ioniq 9 and has a 6.5-inch (165 mm) shorter wheelbase.

Minimalist but Stylish Interior

The minimalist design continues inside, where a digital instrument cluster and a 13.6-inch infotainment system are installed. It runs on Android and has a vertical orientation, which is also a first for Skoda.

In addition to the screens, you can see a floating center console, a multi-level dashboard, and a wide center console. Physical switches are largely absent, but dedicated buttons for frequently used functions are present.

The Peaq is offered in five- and seven-seat configurations and will be available with various options. These include a premium 16-speaker Sonos audio system and a dual 25W Qi2 wireless charging pad.

Skoda also prides itself on the optional Relax package, which equips the crossover with front seats resembling lounge chairs. They have ergonomic footrests, as well as ventilation and massage functions. The package also includes two headrest pillows and a table on the center console.

As for space, the model offers up to 75.9 cubic feet (2,150 liters) of cargo volume. If that is not enough, the front trunk adds another 1.3 cubic feet (37 liters).

Buyers will find a multitude of driver assistance systems, including Front Assist, Crossroad Assist, Turn Assist, and Side Assist. These standard systems can be supplemented with optional Travel Assist 3.0 and Top Area View 360°.

Three Powertrains

The Peaq is built on the MEB+ platform and offers three powertrains, including the base version 60. It uses a 63 kWh NMC battery and a rear electric motor producing 201 hp (150 kW / 204 PS) and 258 lb-ft (350 Nm) of torque. This allows the crossover to accelerate to 62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 8.4 seconds, reaching a top speed of 99 mph (160 km/h).

More importantly, customers can expect a WLTP range of 285 miles (459 km). When the battery is depleted, 160 kW DC fast charging can charge it from 10% to 80% in just 27 minutes.

The mid-range Peaq 90 has a larger 91 kWh battery and a more powerful 282 hp (210 kW / 286 PS) motor with 402 lb-ft (545 Nm) of torque. This reduces the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) time to 7.1 seconds, and the range increases to 402 miles (647 km).

Additionally, the model has an improved fast charging capability of 199 kW, allowing the battery to charge from 10% to 80% in just 28 minutes. While this is nearly identical to the base model, it should be remembered that a larger battery is being charged.

Finally, the top-tier version 90x combines the 91 kWh battery with a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system producing 295 hp (220 kW / 299 PS). Acceleration to 62 mph (100 km/h) takes 6.7 seconds, and the range drops to 381 miles (613 km).

Completing the list of features is a one-pedal driving mode and bidirectional charging capability. The crossover can also tow a trailer weighing up to 4,409 lbs (2,000 kg).

The Skoda Peaq uses over 110 pounds of recycled materials, highlighting the new model’s environmental friendliness. This step is part of the brand’s strategy to reduce its carbon footprint, which is becoming increasingly important for modern automakers. Given the competitive range of up to 402 miles and a wide choice of powertrains, the Peaq has every chance of becoming a serious player in the large electric crossover market, competing with models such as the Hyundai Ioniq 9 and Kia EV9. Special attention should be paid to the innovative panoramic roof with adjustable transparency and the minimalist yet functional interior, which could become key advantages for buyers.
