The Most Unusual and Rare Cars in Ukraine

Despite the coronavirus and the pandemic, the number of unusual cars in Ukraine noticeably increased in 2020. Some of the models are so exotic that it’s hard to believe they are in Ukraine!

TopGir thoroughly examined thousands of car registrations (and re-registrations) and chose the rarest, most unusual, and interesting cars bought by Ukrainians last year. Notably, we decided not to include expensive serial supercars in this ranking (there will be a separate list).

Burby’s BB-E.MOKE

This car can perhaps be considered more exotic and rare than the Porsche 911 GT2. After all, we are looking at an externally old but (conditionally) modern electric car inside. Back in the 1960s, it was developed by Alec Issigonis – an English car designer of Greek origin, who, importantly, is the father of the iconic Mini. MOKE is currently produced in France (production resumed 56 years after its debut), and its name derives from a slang word for donkey. The car’s design is as simple as it is ingenious. Price – from 15 to 20 thousand euros.

Iveco Massif

First, you might not even know this car exists. Second, we were surprised, but it turns out that three such SUVs were imported to Ukraine in 2020! Earlier, we detailedly told about Iveco Massif in Ukraine.

Subaru Baja

This model rightly belongs to the list of little-known Subaru and beyond. The four-door all-wheel-drive pickup Subaru Baja was created on the Outback platform and was produced in the USA for only 4 years (since 2002). The total circulation was 20 thousand copies, but not all of them have survived to our days, as many were used to the fullest. They are now considered collectible youngtimers, and many hunt for them. In 2020, someone in Ukraine bought such a car.

Venucia E30

Familiar appearance? And it’s no accident, because this is the Chinese copy of the Nissan Leaf. But it’s a legal copy (with approval from the Japanese brand), and this electric car is produced at the Chinese Dongfeng-Nissan plant.

Volvo Nilsson V70

Surely you remember the Volvo hearse that was used to farewell Gennady Kernes. So, seeing Nilsson in the registration report, we immediately thought about it, but there’s a nuance – in the database, the hearse is listed as V70, while the one that participated in the funeral procession was a V90. Googling, we realized it’s an ambulance, which was sold in Ukraine in 2020.

XPeng G3

Just recently, an electric car XPeng was spotted in Odessa. In fact, the model is interesting and promising, so it’s no wonder they call it a Tesla killer. Meanwhile, the price is less than 30 thousand dollars.

Tazzari Zero

The cute electric car Tazzari may be very small, but it can’t be called cheap. It costs 15-20 thousand euros and, by the way, can accelerate to one hundred in 5 (!) seconds. Tazzari Zero in Ukraine we have already encountered, but last year their number increased by 1 car (now there are at least three).

Brabus ML 7.3

According to TopGir, there are two Brabus ML 7.3 in Ukraine, and in 2020 one of them was apparently re-registered, which means it likely changed owners. Almost 600 horsepower, 5 (!) seconds to a hundred, 260 km/h – all in a car from the late 90s! By the way, this model was once included in the Guinness Book of Records as the fastest SUV in the world. And, probably, for its time, it was the most expensive, starting at 428,000 German marks.

BYD Tang E600

BYD Tang is a full crossover with an electric setup, which boasts an impressive range of 520 km. Price – over 40 thousand dollars. In Ukraine, this electric car is unique and appeared last year.

Ford Escort

Do you think we are joking? No, and we’ll say more – we are talking about three of the rarest and, without exaggeration, collectible versions! Namely: Escort Cosworth, Escort RS, and Escort RS 2000. Buying Ford Escort RS in Ukraine is practically impossible, as these iconic Ford modifications are a big rarity even for Britain, not to mention our country. Apparently, in 2020, someone either sold their collection (re-registration), but the main thing is that they remained in Ukraine. What’s the price for these lively babies? It varies greatly, but on average in Europe about 50 thousand dollars each (in good condition).

Horch 830 BL

As with the Escort, we have no idea who, how, and when bought/sold these cars, but in 2020 there was a re-registration. And this is not a typo, we are talking about cars in the amount of two copies.

Apparently, one of them is the very Horch that was put on sale in the fall of 2020.

Buying such a rarity from the late 30s is not only a great luck but also an excellent investment, as the cost of this model increases year by year. Currently, its price in Europe reaches up to 400 thousand euros!

PINZGAUER 710M

Wildly passable and indecently brutal off-roader. Representatives of this model exist, but they are few, and in 2020 one more appeared.
