Sheriff Accuses Ram of Lying About Bull Theft and Sees Nothing Funny in It

Ram in a Tight Spot Over “Theft” of Mechanical Bull

The Ram company has found itself at the center of a scandal following a statement about the theft of their mechanical bull, Bucking Hemi. According to the brand, the attraction disappeared after the Roadkill Nights event in Pontiac, Michigan. However, law enforcement is now investigating a possible falsification of the incident as a publicity stunt.

The bull, adorned with the Ram logo and images of a V8 engine, was created to promote the return of the Hemi engine to the brand’s lineup. In a statement, CEO Tim Kuniskis called the situation “ridiculous” and promised to return the attraction.

“This is complete nonsense. Our Bucking Hemi was stolen on Saturday evening. The search is officially underway, and we will not stop until we get it back,” stated Kuniskis.

Publicity Stunt or Real Theft?

Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard stated that the bull never actually went missing and that the company may have intentionally created the story for advertising. Law enforcement is now looking into whether a false police report was filed.

“The company never lost the bull. This is very annoying and a huge waste of valuable investigative time. We are now determining if a crime was committed by filing a false report,” said Bouchard.

This story has caused outrage not only among law enforcement. The city of Pontiac, which recently celebrated a 40% drop in crime rates, is now facing backlash over a possible fake. The Bucking Hemi debuted in June at the Michigan International Speedway, but now its reputation is at risk.

The question of whether this was a genuine mistake or a planned PR move remains open. If it turns out that the theft story was fabricated, Ram could face legal consequences. Local authorities have already stated their readiness to hold those responsible accountable, which could deal a serious blow to the company’s image.
