It seems that after 2022, Ukrainian license plates have been seen everywhere – from the picturesque streets of Porto to sunny California. But now the geography of our auto pilgrimage has been supplemented by another exotic point – South Korea. It was there that a Ferrari 812 GTS, registered in Ukraine, was spotted the other day.
The shot with this “super-Italian” on yellow-and-blue license plates spread across social networks. Local Ferrari fans did not immediately believe that the car really came from Ukraine, because seeing our registration on the streets of Seoul is roughly like seeing a Cossack Mamai in the subway.
The Ferrari 812 GTS is not just a convertible, but the pinnacle of the old Maranello school: a naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 produces 800 hp, revs up to 8900 rpm, and propels the car to one hundred km/h in just 2.9 seconds. In the era of turbos and hybrids, such cars are becoming rare, so even in its native Italy, people turn their heads to look at them. And here it is – Korea, a different part of the world, with a Ukrainian license plate ahead.
Interestingly, in recent years, Ukrainian “exotics” have been increasingly encountered far beyond Europe. A Bentley Continental GT from Kyiv was spotted in Portugal, a Rolls-Royce Cullinan with Kharkiv registration was seen in the USA, and a Porsche 911 from Odesa was spotted in Dubai. But South Korea is a truly new chapter.
