Toyota quietly refines its most affordable sedan model

Updated Toyota Corolla 2026

The new Corolla has received updates that make it slightly more modern and comfortable. The model’s price has increased, but only slightly — the base LE variant costs $400 more than the previous generation.

Among the key changes are a digital instrument cluster in the base trim, and the top XSE version received a 12.3-inch screen instead of a 7-inch one. Also, all models are now equipped with a blind spot monitoring system and a rear cross-traffic alert.

Hybrid version

The 2026 Corolla Hybrid has also been updated. It is equipped with a 1.8-liter engine with a total output of 138 hp and consumes fuel at a rate of 53 miles per gallon in the city. For the hybrid version, an all-wheel drive option is available for an additional fee.

Prices for hybrid models are somewhat higher: the base LE trim costs $24,575, which is $750 more than last year. All-wheel-drive versions are available for an additional $1,400.

The 2026 updates make the Corolla more competitive in the compact sedan market, especially considering the increased standard equipment without a significant price increase. Hybrid variants remain a profitable choice for those seeking fuel efficiency without compromising comfort.
