From September 28 to 30, Kyiv will host the ninth technical festival OldCarLand. On the territory of VDNH (1 Glushkova Avenue, Exhibition Center metro station), hundreds of exclusive and rare cars from different years of production will be showcased. The organizers of the festival are the OldCarService technical classic club and the CoffeeBus project.
Among the participants of OldCarLand are passenger and cargo vehicles, buses, motorbikes, and bicycles. The oldest participants are over 80 years old, and many are preserved in a single specimen. Many models, produced in small batches over a short time, will drive under their own power; these include transitional, limited series and experimental vehicles.
Furthermore, visitors can see cars that belonged to famous and influential people. The festival will present the full lineup of Soviet executive cars from the 1940s to the 1990s, including ZIS, ZIM, ZIL, and GAZ. Additionally, visitors can admire luxurious Maserati, Rolls-Royce, and Mercedes-Benz, as well as sports cars from the 1980s. Several of the rarest European vehicles are currently being restored specifically for the grand opening of OldCarLand, and their first ride will be on the festival podium. Massive American cars like Oldsmobile, Chevrolet, Ford, and Cadillac with super-powerful engines will also decorate the central alleys of the exhibition center.
OldCarLand will showcase the most complete collection of passenger vehicles in Ukraine. Unique LAZ models, preserved in a single copy, will arrive, which cannot be seen on our roads or in museums.
Part of the exhibition will be brought especially for festival visitors from other countries – Poland, Belarus, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, and Moldova. The first Soviet world-class racing car Lada Eva is expected. This car was released in 1988 and equipped with a turbocharged engine with 300 hp.
The sports theme will be complemented by spectacular rally car races. For three whole days, racers will perform complex maneuvers and give rides to visitors on a specially designated area.
As part of the festival, there will be a vintage car rally and an elegance contest – car owners will be dressed in clothing from the era the car was manufactured. The youngest participants can also compete in pedal car races. Winners will receive prizes.
The highlight of the festive program will be a performance by the legendary group “Leisya Pesnya.” OldCarLand will also have restaurant zones and children’s entertainment sectors.
The festival doors will be open from 09:00 to 20:00. Ticket prices are 120 hryvnias, with free entry for children under 12 and for combat veterans.
