In Russia, a 21st Century Pobeda with an Interesting Fate is Put Up for Sale

In a Moscow car showroom that specializes in selling supercars and exclusive cars, a very unusual neo-retro car has been put on display. Essentially, it shows what the Pobeda could have been like if it were produced today. The car, made in a single copy, is also interesting because it has Ukrainian ‘roots’, although German ones too.

The fact is that this particular Pobeda based on a Mercedes was manufactured by Ukrainian specialists from the tuning atelier Specautotuning, which is actually better known for its creations in Europe, Russia, and even Monaco.

In particular, this concerns neo-retro cars in the style of Soviet auto classics, created on the basis of modern cars.

It is also worth mentioning the Batmobile, which, like this Pobeda, was made by the joint efforts of tuners and the company Nanoprotec in the framework of creating special projects. Suffice it to know that the Batmobile’s buyer, for example, was none other than the son of the President of Egypt, who moved it to the Principality of Monaco.

The basis of the Pobeda put up for sale is a Mercedes CL550 coupe in the 216 body style. The engine is a 5.5-liter gasoline engine with 388 horsepower. Despite the completely new handcrafted body (excluding the roof and pillars), the car retains native ‘Mercedes’ safety and even keeps the branded door closers. That is, it essentially looks like a retro car on the outside, but inside it functions as a modern, comfortable car.

The unique replica was created for a Russian businessman on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the release of the GAZ M-20 ‘Pobeda’. Currently, the exclusive car is being sold at the Royal Motors car showroom in Moscow. The price is impressive – thirteen and a half million rubles, that is, 5 million hryvnias or 180 thousand dollars, or 150 thousand euros.
