Key Details About the New Hypercar
Entry into the Unique Car Market
Demand for multi-million dollar hypercars has never been stronger, and next month one of the most authoritative names in automotive design will enter this exclusive circle. In collaboration with Capricorn, the engineering firm behind the carbon monocoque of the Apollo IE, Zagato is preparing to launch its first own hypercar. It will be hand-built and limited to just 19 units.
First Glimpses of the Design
The model, which still has no name, will be presented at the Zoute Grand Prix in Belgium next month. For now, its shape continues to be hidden in shadow, but after lighting up the image in Photoshop, some design details become visible.
The first thing that catches the eye is the gullwing-style doors – perhaps the most exotic option a car enthusiast can imagine. Zagato has also developed side mirrors that protrude far from the front fenders. At the front, a large air vent on the hood, a relatively restrained front bumper, and square-rounded headlights are visible. Overall, the new hypercar has a rather sleek and retro-oriented design, which pleasantly contrasts with modern aerodynamically saturated models.
Interior and Technical Features
The interior remains a secret, but one detail is visible: three classic round dials instead of modern digital displays, emphasizing the car’s analog philosophy.
Technical specifications have not yet been disclosed. It is only known that the model combines the engineering prowess and manufacturing experience of Capricorn with the design talent of Zagato, realizing an “analog configuration.” All 19 units will be assembled by Capricorn, with production starting in the first half of 2026.
“This project signifies a turning point in our 106-year history of collaboration with over 45 automotive brands in creating collector GT cars,” stated Zagato President Andrea Zagato. “The first Zagato hypercar opens a new segment of collector cars, created to transcend modern and classic categories and enhance the driving experience. Zagato’s connection with motorsport spans over a century, dating back to the times when the Gran Turismo category united racing cars that could be enjoyed on ordinary roads.”
The emergence of such a car from Zagato may indicate a growing interest in more “pure,” less technologically overloaded hypercars, where the emphasis is on driving emotions and unique design, not just on maximum performance. The limited series of 19 cars is likely to become a collector’s item even before production begins, given the manufacturer’s name and partnership with an experienced engineering company.
