You’re Not Buying, So Dodge May Discontinue the Electric Charger Daytona R/T

Dodge May Discontinue the Charger Daytona R/T

A new report suggests that Dodge plans to discontinue the base model Charger Daytona R/T in 2026. However, the Scat Pack version will remain on sale, possibly at a reduced price. A four-door modification and a twin-turbo engine are also expected to appear.

Sales issues with Dodge’s electric models are becoming apparent. For example, in Florida, a car priced at $61,590 is being offered for $34,184, while in Texas, it’s being sold for $39,055. This indicates weak demand for the electric versions of the Charger Daytona. The publication reports that Dodge initially planned to make the R/T model a “made-to-order” vehicle, but due to low demand, it may abandon it entirely.

Charger Lineup Updates

The Scat Pack model will likely remain in production. It is equipped with a more powerful powertrain—630 hp compared to the R/T’s 456 hp. In 2026, this version may become cheaper but lose some features, such as the standard Track Pack.

A four-door version is expected to be added to the lineup, along with a new engine—a 3.0-liter inline-six with twin turbos. Additionally, in 2026, the Charger will receive an updated wheel design.

Despite Dodge’s efforts to establish itself in the electric vehicle market, buyers still seem to prefer traditional gasoline engines. This may force the company to reconsider its strategy, especially given the significant discounts on electric models. At the same time, the introduction of new options, such as a four-door version, could attract a broader range of customers.
