Jeep introduces limited edition Wrangler Rubicon Trail Hunt Edition
Jeep has decided to tap into cinematic nostalgia by introducing a new special version of the Wrangler inspired by Indiana Jones films. However, expectations should be tempered, as the Wrangler Rubicon Trail Hunt Edition will be limited to just 20 units, all of which are intended for the South Korean market.
The design changes are immediately noticeable. Black side decals stretch along the body, complemented by cast wheels with rim locks. Extended wheel arches, a hood deflector, and a stainless steel roof rack with side steps are also installed. Noteworthy are the high-performance JPP windshield wipers, which feature 12 laser-cut holes for dispensing washer fluid directly onto the glass.
Available colors and technical specifications
Buyers in South Korea are offered a simple choice of body color: Bright White or Anvil, both with identical black decals.
Under the hood sits a 2-inch lift kit, giving the Wrangler a more aggressive stance. The powertrain is the familiar turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine producing 272 hp (203 kW / 276 PS) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque. It is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and the unchanged Rock-Trac HD four-wheel-drive system.
Price and availability
The 20 units of the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Trail Hunt Edition are priced in South Korea at 95,700,000 won (approximately $64,900 USD). This is 8,800,000 won ($6,000) more than a standard Rubicon, although the cost of the additional Mopar equipment amounts to 13,250,000 won ($9,000).
For those who miss out on one of the 20 vehicles, Jeep Korea offers the same parts separately at reduced prices. In other regions, the approach is more conventional: buyers can purchase components through Mopar or choose one of the other special Jeep editions as part of the “Twelve 4 Twelve” campaign.
Interestingly, the company is deliberately limiting the series to just 20 units, creating artificial scarcity and enhancing the model’s exclusivity. Although the vehicle is inspired by the adventures of Indiana Jones, it features no special off-road functions beyond the standard Rubicon equipment and additional Mopar accessories. This marketing move allows Jeep to attract attention to the brand without significant development investment, using off-the-shelf components and nostalgia for popular films.
