Theft of Two Chevrolet Corvette ZR1s from the Plant
Two new Chevrolet Corvette ZR1s were stolen right from the Bowling Green Assembly Plant on Friday. The thieves didn’t even remove the protective film from the cars. This is already the second case of Corvette theft from this plant this year.
Because these supercars have 1064 horsepower, several law enforcement agencies joined the search, including Kentucky State Police and Warren County Sheriff’s Office. One of the suspects, a 20-year-old man, was apprehended almost immediately. The second driver evaded arrest, but both cars were found undamaged.

Charges and Search for the Second Criminal
The detained individual faces a number of charges, including organized crime, fleeing police pursuit, and theft. The second driver is still at large, and according to radio intercepts, his speed during the chase exceeded 180 miles per hour.
Separately, in Indiana, the search continues for a man named Dennis Smith, who may be connected to this case. Although the connection to the Corvette theft has not yet been confirmed, some sources consider him the primary suspect.
This story shows how vulnerable even closed production facilities can be. The Bowling Green plant has already faced similar incidents, indicating a need for enhanced security measures. The speed of the police response and the absence of serious damage to the cars can be considered positive aspects of this situation.
