Features of the Modified Porsche 911
Joe Rogan’s New Project
Podcaster and comedian Joe Rogan, known for his large car collection, added another unique Porsche 911 to his garage this year. This specially modified car was created by The RSR Project based on a 1980s model. The original body was preserved, galvanized, and disassembled, after which steel wings, custom fiberglass bumpers, and a “ducktail” spoiler were added.
Technical Updates
The flat-type engine was completely modernized: new bushings, bearings, valves were installed, as well as twin-plug heads, an intake manifold from a GT3, Clewett Engineering throttle bodies, camshafts, and a modern Emtron SL ECU control system. Thanks to these changes, the engine power reaches about 300 hp, which is perfect for a lightweight car.
Interior and Comfort
The car’s interior has been completely redesigned: a new dashboard from Porsche Classic, carpets, and special black leather bucket seats inspired by the Ford GT40 design have been installed. A Momo Prototipo steering wheel, a short-throw gearshift, and a modern air conditioning system make the ride comfortable. Joe Rogan chose a classic approach without additional multimedia systems.
Richard Schickman, the company’s founder, noted: “Every RSR car is built to be used, not stored in a garage. We test each model, including this one, for over 700 miles to guarantee quality and driving pleasure.”
Cost and Customization
The base price of such a Porsche 911 is $375,000, but the final cost is often higher due to extensive customization options. Each client can choose unique details, making every car special.
This project highlights the trend of restomodding, where classic cars are combined with modern technologies while preserving the spirit of the original. Such initiatives are becoming increasingly popular among collectors and enthusiasts who seek uniqueness and high performance.
