Dodge Turbo Charger Concept to be Auctioned
An auction is scheduled for September, where approximately 300 cars from the Klairmont Kollections museum in Chicago will be sold. Among them is the unique Dodge Turbo Charger concept, notable for its aerodynamic design and turbocharged engine.
Concept Features
The concept differs from production models with a more streamlined body, gull-wing doors, covered wheels, and a large rear spoiler. The interior is equipped with 11 different instruments, a roll cage, Recaro seats, and a five-speed manual transmission.
The concept’s engine is a turbocharged 2.2-liter four-cylinder unit that became the basis for a future production engine with 142 horsepower.
The museum’s collection includes a variety of cars—from horse-drawn carriages to rare models like the 1959 Goggomobil Dart Roadster. The auction is being held with no reserve price as the museum is closing permanently.
The Dodge Turbo Charger concept was showcased at auto shows in Detroit and Chicago in 1982. Its sale is an opportunity to acquire a unique specimen that embodies the engineering and design experiments of its time.
