This Italian coupe resembles a classic Ferrari, but with an eight-cylinder from Detroit

Italian startup Automobili Mignatta is preparing a sensation: the new Rina coupe

Last year, the small Italian company Automobili Mignatta unexpectedly announced itself by unveiling the Rina Barchetta model. This is an impressive sports car with a carbon fiber body, an American V8 engine, and a starting price of $290,000. Now the manufacturer has confirmed that the car will debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this weekend, and has also announced the release of a coupe version.

Design and materials: luxury and technology

The Rina Barchetta, which will go to Goodwood, features a luxurious silver paint with a green tint and numerous forged carbon fiber details. These include headlight blocks, panels behind the front wheels, and side skirts. Carbon fiber is also widely used in the car’s interior.

For example, the door panels, roll bars, parts of the dashboard, and the steering wheel are made from this lightweight material. Contrast with the carbon fiber is created by elements made of deep green and white leather, particularly on the seats. Of special note is the gear shift lever with an exposed mechanism, made from a combination of stainless steel and composite materials.

The premium materials do not end there: the bezel of the speedometer, the center console, and the climate control panel are machined from aluminum on CNC machines.

Rina Coupe: 1960s inspiration

Although the company is not yet ready to show the world the Rina coupe, it has presented it through a series of sketches, which will also be displayed at Goodwood. As good as the Barchetta looks, reviewers believe the hardtop version will be equally impressive. It resembles Italian sports cars of the 1960s, such as the Ferrari 250 GTO. The coupe features a smooth double-bubble roof, which perfectly complements the overall exterior design.

Technical specifications: American power

Both the Rina Barchetta and the future coupe will use a 5.0-liter naturally aspirated V8 engine from Ford, refined by Italtecnica Engineering. This allows for approximately 500 horsepower. This powerful engine is paired with a six-speed manual transmission and a self-locking differential. As expected, all power is sent to the rear wheels, promising extremely thrilling dynamics.

Thus, Automobili Mignatta is not only confirming the seriousness of its intentions but also expanding its lineup, offering buyers a choice between the open Barchetta and the closed coupe. Both models combine Italian style and American power, making them unique players in the supercar market. The appearance of a coupe inspired by legendary models of the 60s could become a real event for enthusiasts of classic design and modern technology. All that remains is to wait for the official premiere to see how closely the production version will match the bold sketches.
