2025 Audi SQ6 e-tron: Thrilling Ride, But a Charging Disappointment

Audi SQ6 e-tron: Powerful, But Not Without Its Flaws

Audi models with the letter ‘S’ have always been special. They offer the perfect balance of performance, comfort, and quality. One such newcomer is the SQ6 e-tron — an electric crossover that competes with the Mercedes-AMG EQE 53 and the Lotus Eletre.

Is it worth its price? After a week of testing, it turned out to be a strong contender in its segment, but with some shortcomings.

Technical Specifications

Interior: Technology and Compromises

The SQ6 e-tron’s interior impresses with three large screens: an 11.9-inch instrument panel, a 14.5-inch central display, and a 10.9-inch screen for the passenger. The system works quickly, but some materials look cheap, especially the doors with hard plastic.

“I was disappointed by the lack of seat ventilation at this price”

Dynamics and Handling

The SQ6 e-tron accelerates to 100 km/h in 4.3 seconds and handles corners excellently, despite its heavy weight. However, some drivers might feel discomfort due to the artificial engine sound in Dynamic mode.

The regenerative braking system works well, but sometimes an extraneous sound is heard during sharp braking. Also, the lack of active lane centering is a serious drawback for a car of this class.

Efficiency and Charging

The real-world efficiency was 22.4 kWh per 100 km, which is below the claimed 17.5–18.6 kWh. However, the 800-volt architecture allows for fast charging of the battery up to 80% in 21 minutes.

Despite some shortcomings, the SQ6 e-tron is a true representative of the Audi S line. It combines power, technology, and practicality, but some minor issues remain. For those looking for a fast and comfortable electric crossover, it will be a good option if you are willing to put up with certain compromises.
