Mike Tyson’s Ferrari F50: What Makes This Example Special

Up for sale is the 73rd of 349 Ferrari F50s built and one of only 55 cars created for the American market. The supercar was built in late 1995 and delivered to its buyer in 1996.
The first private owner of the car was Mike Tyson, who bought the Ferrari after regaining the title of undisputed world heavyweight champion. Later that same year, the boxer sold the car to a dealer, after which it changed hands several times, including among notable American collectors.
In 2008, Ferrari confirmed the car’s authenticity, issuing a Ferrari Classiche Red Book certificate. The document certifies that the supercar retains its original body, engine, transmission, and chassis.

At the time of preparation for the auction, the car’s odometer showed only 9,973 kilometers. Before the sale, an official Ferrari dealer performed a full technical service to bring the car to optimal mechanical condition.
The Ferrari F50 is powered by a naturally aspirated 4.7-liter V12 engine producing 513 hp and 470 Nm of torque. The supercar can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds, with a top speed of 202 mph.

The car is built on a carbon-fiber monocoque using Formula 1 technologies, with a body made of carbon fiber, Kevlar, and Nomex composite materials. Included in the package are a removable hardtop, a set of branded Ferrari F50 luggage, original manuals, factory documentation, service history, and a pair of Everlast boxing gloves autographed by Mike Tyson.
