Ferrari unveiled the unique supercar HC25: a final bow to the V8 without electrification
Ferrari has revealed details of its new project under the Special Projects program — a unique car built to the order of one customer. The HC25 model is based on the chassis of the discontinued F8 Spider, but its body is a completely different story. It quite frankly hints at where Maranello’s design is headed.
The goal of the project was to combine the last non-electrified V8 engine from the F8 with a futuristic design that echoes the flagship 12Cilindri and F80 models. According to Ferrari, the HC25 “reimagines the shapes and aesthetic codes” of its mid-engined Spiders.

In terms of dimensions, the HC25 is 147 mm (5.8 inches) longer than the production F8, 27 mm (1.1 inches) wider, and 23 mm (0.9 inches) lower. The proportions have only benefited from this.
Design: Black Stripe and LED Fangs
A black stripe wraps around the unique body horizontally, starting from the engine cover and slicing the car in half, emphasizing the sculpted rear wings. An aluminum blade protrudes from the side air intake and functions as a door handle.

The aggressive LED headlights evoke associations with the SF90 model, but they are completely unique. They are connected by LED “fangs” in a Peugeot style that extend across the boomerang-shaped bumper. At the rear, ultra-thin dual LED taillights are integrated into the air vents, complemented by a large diffuser and two exhaust tips.

The body color is matte “Moonlight” with glossy black accents and yellow elements on the prancing horse and brake calipers. The wheels are unique 20-inch five-spoke with a diamond finish.
Interior Without Surprises
As for the interior, there are no surprises here. The cabin is carried over from the F8 with custom upholstery and yellow graphic details. In other words, Ferrari did not redo the dashboard for a single customer.
No Hybrid, No Apologies
Mechanically, the HC25 is an F8 Spider. The engine is a twin-turbo V8 with a displacement of 3.9 liters, producing 710 hp (530 kW / 720 PS) and 770 Nm of torque. It drives the rear wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and is completely devoid of battery assistance. Ferrari claims 2.9 seconds to 100 km/h, 8.2 seconds to 200 km/h, and a top speed of 340 km/h.

The presentation took place at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, concluding two years of work between an unnamed client and Centro Stile Ferrari. The price is not disclosed, but the usual cost of monopolizing Maranello’s design studio typically starts with a comma in the wrong place. The HC25 is the third unique car on the F8 platform after the 2022 SP49 Unica and the 2023 SP-8 roadster.

This project is a vivid testament to how the Italian brand continues to honor its most loyal customers by creating true works of art on wheels. The HC25 not only says goodbye to the era of the pure V8 but also demonstrates how classic values can be reimagined in contemporary design. Given that this is already the third such project based on the F8, one can assume that this supercar platform has become a kind of canvas for Ferrari’s boldest design experiments before the brand fully transitions to hybridizing and electrifying its models.
