Dodge brings updated Charger back to Europe
American buyers have largely lost interest in the updated Charger: in the first quarter of 2026, Dodge sold only 1,672 vehicles with internal combustion engines. For comparison, in the first quarter of 2023, the brand sold 33,499 units of the Charger and Challenger.
This is a dramatic drop, but the model lineup is gradually expanding, and SRT versions will appear soon. The manufacturer is also counting on sales growth thanks to the European market, where sales will begin relatively soon.
Technical specifications and versions for Europe
Stellantis has not yet revealed many details but has confirmed that the Charger is returning to Europe as “one of the purest embodiments of American automotive culture.” Company representatives noted that the European version will have a “multi-energy approach” and will be offered in Sixpack and Daytona configurations.

More details will be released soon, but it is already known that the Charger R/T is equipped with a twin-turbo 3.0-liter inline-six Hurricane engine producing 420 hp (313 kW / 426 PS) and 468 lb-ft (634 Nm) of torque. This allows the model to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 4.6 seconds and complete a quarter mile in 12.9 seconds.
The mid-range Scat Pack has an upgraded engine with 550 hp (410 kW / 558 PS) and 531 lb-ft (719 Nm) of torque. This reduces the 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) time to 3.9 seconds and the quarter mile to 12.2 seconds.
Finally, there is the Charger Daytona Scat Pack. It features a 100.5 kWh battery and a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system producing 670 hp (500 kW / 679 PS) and 627 lb-ft (849 Nm) of torque. Acceleration to 60 mph (96 km/h) takes 3.3 seconds, and it covers a quarter mile in 11.5 seconds. However, you will have to accept a relatively modest range by EPA standards — 267 miles (430 km).
New options and future plans
Dodge recently introduced the 2027 Charger lineup, which received 25 new customization options and a NACS port for the electric vehicle. Highlights include Petrol Blue leather sport seats, Demonic Red seat belts, and various exterior stripes.
Head of Dodge Europe Fabio Catone noted: “Bringing the Charger back to Europe is a significant moment for the brand. It means reintroducing an unmistakably American name to customers who value character and authenticity.”
Despite modest initial sales in the US, Dodge is betting on the European market, where American muscle cars have always had their audience. The combination of gasoline and electric versions will allow meeting different buyer preferences, especially given Europe’s strict environmental regulations. At the same time, the electric version’s range of 430 km could be a challenge for some European drivers accustomed to greater autonomy. Nevertheless, the arrival of SRT versions and the expansion of customization options could help the Charger regain interest both in the US and overseas.
